Taiwan Stays Loyal: Kim Soo Hyun’s Fan Meeting Proceeds Despite Scandal

South Korean actor Kim Soo Hyun is scheduled to attend the 2025 Kaohsiung Cherry Blossom Festival in Taiwan, with a fan meeting planned for March 30, 2025, from 9:20 PM to 10:00 PM. Despite the growing storm of controversy back home, the event seems to be going ahead. Because why not throw a party when the house is already on fire, right?

The festival, running from March 28 to 30, boasts a lineup of international stars, with Kim Soo Hyun being the biggest draw. Tickets? Sold out like hotcakes—VIP, general, and couple seats are already gone, leaving only a few seats reserved for the elderly. Guess grandma’s going to have the best view.

If the Taiwan fan meeting gets canceled, Kim Soo Hyun might be looking at a 1.32 billion KRW ($911,000) penalty fee. Event organizers are insisting the event is “proceeding as per the original contract,” but they’re clearly on standby with a finger hovering over the cancel button.
